With all the talk today about Twitter possibly getting rid of the Like button, please remember that if you really want to help spread positive ideas, the retweet button is much more powerful.
The Like button is great for giving a thumbs up and saving a reference for yourself. But retweeting helps spread blog posts, articles and references much more effectively. And it takes basically the same amount of effort.
Oh, and also - it's a bad idea to get rid of the Like button.
Instead of getting rid of the Like button, Twitter should add a "Dislike" button with a prompt to enter a reason.
And then a cumulative total of likes vs. dislikes.
