By now we all know what a partisan hack Whitaker is right? Of course that comes with all kinds of worries about Mueller, but what I kept thinking was how does a guy like this even GET so high up in a system that's supposed to be apolitical?

Whitaker has been an obvious operative for over a decade. He penned an opinion piece against Hillary in USA Today in 2016. He then went on to FOX news to "interview" for a job in #DonnieTwoScoops' administration.

He ran for office in Iowa twice as a Republican and was defeated. AFTER he left his original US Attorney spot. Then he ran a "think tank" (read: partisan attack machine) funded by the Kochs.

AND he sat on the "advisory panel" (whatever the hell THAT corporate speak means) of a company that a federal judge brought the hammer down on last May.

So I kept asking myself how a guy like this got into our justice system, left it to be an obvious hatchet man for repubs, then made it back INTO the system?

Our justice system is supposed to be blind to politics right?

Well it was, until 2006. What happened in 2006 you might ask?

In 2006 the Bush W admin. got busted for creating a political litmus test for US Attorneys. They were caught only hiring "conservative" US Attorneys, and for FIRING ones who didn't match their poltical agenda.

They were firing US Attorneys who refused to investigate and prosecute dem politicians of whom they had found no evidence of wrongdoing, against the wishes of Karl Rove and Harriet Miers.

In other words, they were packing the justice system against dems.

Authoritarian much?

So what does that have to do wrh Whitaker? Well it just so happens that he was appointed by Bush right after the midterms when this plot was hatched. Given the length of time a DOJ security clearance takes, it's probable he slipped through the cracks in this scandal.

Talk about deep state huh? Do you wonder why the repubs and their ilk are always going on about the "deep state?" It's because they CREATED one. Now, as usual, they project their flouting of democratic norms upon others to distract from what THEY did.

Wanna know what this tells me, other than the fact that repubs are a poison to our system who have NO BUSINESS governing?

It tells me that this fight we're in for the soul of our nation can never stop.

EVER.

One party wants to govern, and one party wants to RULE.

So when they keep trying to get us off track with mini scandals that we expected anyway, it's ALWAYS because they don't want us to see what the other hand is doing.

Look past the obvious, do your due diligence, and tell people what you know.

Rinse and repeat.
