Bigotry is nothing more than an OPINION.
Prejudice is nothing more than OPINION.
Racism is nothing more than an OPINION.
Opinions & ACTIONS are not the same.
Words & ACTIONS are not the same.

Personally, I hate ALL of these things, and that fact changes NOTHING.
Because my freedom of opinion does not cancel YOURS.
To say that ANY opinion "has no place in Canada" is an violation of all of our charter rights, because WHO DECIDES who's opinion is "valid" or not?? 2/

Why is their opinion more valid than yours or mine, and who decides that?
Does whoever holds the PMO or majority gov't decide?
That may sound fair.... as long as the gov't you agree with is in the PMO, but what about when the gov't changes hands? 4/

THINK before you give ANY ground on our rights & freedoms. All ground given could be used against you the moment votes are counted.
Statements like "______ has no place in Canada" may sound moral & good, but you could be one election away from finding yourself in that blank. 5/

Statements like these sound good, but are dangerous b/c they suggest that our freedoms and rights are negotiable, depending on who is in office.
What would be the response form the left if a future gov't won the PMO, and immediately said, "Abortion has no place in Canada!" ? 6/

What if they insisted Pro-choice positions were hate speech, promoting violence against the unborn?
What if they said the Koran had "No place in Canada", or LGBT groups were hate groups discriminating against those that support traditional marriage? 7/

To BOTH sides of the political spectrum, choose wisely whether or not to support when your own side treads too closely to infringement on ANY of our rights & freedoms. A precedent could easily be set that could someday mean infringement on YOUR OWN.
