1) Spain’s centre left PSOE has lost the regional election in Andalusia for the first time. A slap in the face for PM Sanchez
2) VOX - far right populists have seats for the first time in a parliament - regional or national - in Spain. V possibly picking up support from those fed up with the traditional ruling parties. Pattern we’ve seen in so much of Europe
3) Big winner in Andalusia is the centrist Ciudadanos Party (which actually is pretty centre right)
4) While PSOE won the biggest number of votes they’ve lost the ability to form a government. What now?
5) This is a big, big political change for Spain. Spain’s establishment did not see VOX’s success coming. Many will fear its influence will now spread beyond this unexpectedly strong showing in Andalusia
