True.

Not to mention self-admitted obstruction by Trump in firing Comey and Sessions.

So why wait for #Mueller?
I see no reason House Dems can't begin the #impeachment process whether or not the Senate ultimately convicts. The rule of law should be upheld no matter what we think the ultimate outcome is. Waiting for #Mueller has allowed Trump/GOP to keep wreaking havoc on the country.
Can someone please explain the argument: "House Dems shouldn't impeach Trump because the Senate won't convict."

Isn't that effectively saying never impeach Trump?

If Dems don't stand for the rule of law against this treacherous gang of GOP leaders, what message does that send?

1. In the midst of the DiGenova news and general chaos? BIG news here. Bryan Lanza, the Trump campaign deputy comms director, urged Papatopoulos to go for interview with RU news agency, while emphasizing the benefits of "a US partnership with Russia".
2. Vain attempts to depict Papadopoulos as a low-level volunteer clash with the reality of him RECEIVING AUTHORIZATION or even encouragement from top Trump campaign officials. Papadopoulos had MORE extensive contact with Trump campaign AND transition than has been acknowledged.
3. WaPo was told about emails turned over to investigators that contain the exchange between Lanza and Papadopoulos. Now for the kicker: the emails show that BANNON AND FLYNN COMMUNICATED WITH PAPADOPOULOS about his efforts to broker ties between TRUMP and TOP FOREIGN OFFICIALS.

(THREAD) An August Washington Post report contains evidence Trump's campaign knew as early as early as May 2016 that the Russians wanted to negotiate U.S. policy with Trump, the campaign *knew* such negotiations were illegal, and it conducted them anyway.
1/ In August 2017, The Washington Post published an explosive report about contacts between the Russians and top Trump NatSec advisor George Papadopoulos, who later pleaded guilty to a federal crime.

2/ WP detailed a flurry of emails among top Trump campaign officials about the Russia-Papadopoulos contacts. The most significant one—little noticed in media coverage at the time—was from Trump National Co-Chair Sam Clovis to Trump's NatSec team and top Trump aides.
