WW jumped on the story with a sympathetic piece. However @MohanadElshieky contradicts himself again. He originally said he could “hear” specific things the person on the phone was saying. Not so according to this: wweek.com/news/courts/20…
How does he come to this conclusion? He was questioned by federal authorities for 20 minutes (he alleges) and then was permitted to leave without issue. 
These two things are not the same. Can you spot the difference?

OPB has published a report providing a more complete picture. @MohanadElshieky didn’t carry the correct documentation with him. He says it would be inconvenient to have it with him. opb.org/news/article/p…
Again, @MohanadElshieky seems to walk back his original inflammatory claim that he was called an “illegal” over and over. He says he will use the incident as content for his future comedy routines.
Elshieky takes another swipe at the officers in the OPB piece, saying they targeted people of color and those who looked Latino on the bus. In reality, the agents interviewed every one who was a non-US citizen. Coincidence is not racism.
No, they don’t confirm his story, @katemshepherd. They confirmed that their agents interacted with him—which is a big difference. The thrust of his claim is that officers were racist and questioned him illegally.

This is wrong & misleading @CBSNews @caitlinmokane. He was not detained. He was questioned. The feature photo of man getting detained on the right is not even of him. You think after last week legacy media would be more careful about getting things right. cbsnews.com/news/comedian-…
