hot take it should be completely normal for people to come to forums and post a simple question, get directed to an existing thread, and everyone says "thanks / you're welcome" instead of the hostility i've seen towards this on forums for 20 years
like this isn't actually a hot take but i'm still astonished by the assumption that *anyone* should know how to navigate your forum and what keywords were used for that thread three years ago where someone called your problem by the wrong name
"just google it" i frequently spend an hour looking for something, then ask someone and they give me a keyword that instantly gets me what i needed
if people read the very first post in your stickies you're lucky. anyone who works retail knows that even the smartest customers don't read signs because your brain, upon walking into a completely new place, is incapable of comprehending anything for like two hours
