Guys, I’m sure you know I’ve been on twitter for a decade enough to know which news is fake & which is real. I have also been around beyond your wildest imaginations. There is a reason why the Police is yet to accuse us of falsehood/fraud. We don’t promote lies or encourage evil.
You can’t send us lies and fake videos and expect us to deploy same to get you justice. We understand authorities may be giving you a hard time but if you are genuinely on the right side of the law, you won’t need to be mendacious to get justice. Two wrongs...
How can you people send the same video of an incident and claim that it happened this morning in 4 different cities in Nigeria. Common sense should have informed you that we would have seen these videos at some point if not treated the case in question. Stick with the truth.
We are not the enemy of the authorities. We are simply bridge builders standing in the Institutional gaps to protect fellow citizens where government have failed. You need not implicate us with your lies and craftiness. Stop the fake news.
The video you saw making the rounds is not that of the EFCC but NDLEA in a bout with hoodlums trying to overrun them. The other one with a guy in white is not a Pokice incident but that of DSS in Benin. Not Ibadan, Ilorin or Rivers. Lastly the guy shot in the leg was in Cameroon.
We don’t hate the authorities. The officers you see in uniforms are citizens as well and they wear different hats as fathers, uncles, brothers and friends of many. We’re not out to implicate or incriminate them but help them serve us better. Stop the blackmail. Report truthfully.
If you feel you’ve been unjustly treated, maligned, abused or extorted, you can contact us & we will engage but don’t get back at officers doing their job to keep society safer, with foreign videos or other incidents that has nothing to do with your case or state. @citizen_gavel
You can start by not sharing unverifiable videos or pictures. If you did not witness it and can’t vouch for the source please don’t share. There is no price for being the first to break a news. If it is false the shame will be huge. A sensitive election approaches. Think deep.
Regardless of your party acronyms, we will be assisting the @PoliceNG in identifying fake news peddlers especially against the authorities. We mustn’t allow sensitive issues to get swept under the rug because of the preponderance of false calls. So be wary.
Fact check your videos, pictures & tweets. It just might save you from embarrassment. You’re building a goodwill on an App like this. Anything you say may be used against you 10years from now. You can imagine how many people live in shame today because of their unguarded tweets.
...End of Celestial Admonition...
