It would appear I missed an important memo from our friends at Google. They are going to start algorithmically burying content that doesn’t violate their terms of service.

YouTube & Google constitute much of our market place of ideas. Is that a Free Market? An Open Market?

Okay @Google & @YouTube. We have elections coming up in 2020. Can you be HYPER-specific about what you mean by “doesn’t quite cross the line” as a decision boundary?? Can you describe this classifier in DETAIL given your relationship to civil society & democracy? We have all day.
Who/what is Borderline content? Is that Falt Earthers & @benshapiro? What of people who think Lee Harvey Oswald might not have acted alone? Is that @JamesADamore or people who want to take anti-trust action against @Google? What about those who oppose H1bs you use as tampering?

Glenn is upset. He’s a skilled and very smart partisan in my opinion. But I do see him as being on a team & envy him in that regard. That’s why I named the #IDW.
2/ I don’t give hot takes on many items for a reason. Many years ago Bob Dylan made the mistake of recording, in my opinion, the rocker “Julius & Ethel” about the 1953 executions of the Rosenbergs. I think it immoral to have a position on the Rosenbergs:

3/ As I see it the execution of Julius as a filthy spy was justified. The execution of Ethel Rosenberg was an abomination. It was a “message killing” dropped like Luca Brasi’s vest on the doorsteps of progressive Jewish homes: “Go too far left and we *will* orphan your children.”

If the US constitution were simply a piece of code, it would NOT compile. There is an entire culture of sophisticated make-believe, ritual & fiction essential to making it appear free of error, so that it can govern those who WISH to abide by its spirit.

We are acting as idiots.
Our speech is not absolutely free. We do not have one man one vote. Our right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited. We routinely prohibit free exercise to those who claim religious belief. Etc.

If we don’t want to *pretend* to keep its genius going, we have a *huge* problem.
Yes we have a written Constitution, but it’s not sacred. It was written by an actual patriarchy & there‘s no Public Service Announcement that teaches children that it’s a “fiction of the willing.” I don’t usually say this because I don’t want to break its spell...yet some now do.

I'd like to pay a debt or two. I have not always had the easiest relationship with @jgreenhall over the last 10 years and I don't always feel comfortable with his takes on things. But he is one of my "minds of last resort." Early on @wikileaks & @Bitcoin. Maddening on everything.
My emphasis on "Sense-making" came from him directly as did the phrase. I don't know that I can or would recommend him to most sane people. Just know that he's out there and that when everyone has gone crazy, he is one of 5 or so people I call to make sure I'm not losing my mind.
If you want to know why I hesitate, it's because he's often independently very close to something I believe, but taking it in a direction with which I deeply disagree (usually too strategic or w not enough 'soul' for lack of a term). But we're not so egoic: he's super insightful.

Facebook wants to own the VR app ecosystem, & @blakejharrisNYC got an Zuckerberg email revealing FB tried to buy @unity3d to ensure integrations with their services. Zuck thought this would strongarm @EpicGames in integrating tightly with FB. What a misread on @TimSweeneyEpic!
Oh the stories @unity3d could tell about the invisible platform wars that have been happening in VR/AR over the past 5 years. Valve seems to be the only major XR player that deeply understand ecosystem development, but maybe that's because they've owned gaming's #1 app store.
It's likely @unity3d is probably trying to own aspects of the gaming platform like cloud hosting, especially with their recent terms of service update & public feud/breakup with @Improbableio. It's likely their business model directly competes with Unity:

I will start after #WWI and the Treaty of Versailles. It never made sense. Why divide #Germany in these pieces and leave it's people impoverished? Isn't this a recipe for resentment?
3) Why did the #Germans, even though a foreign boot never shot a boot on their soil, make overtures of peace to end the #war, while they were poised to win?

Their objectives were met.

Why was the #USA brought into WWI? Why were large payments sent to #communist #Russia? #QAnon

I had to pull out all my elicitation tricks during this investigation. It was incredibly personal, but left me feeling very confident in my abilities to get at what information I needed.
I first started helping friends with OSINT, vishing and phishing, and that quickly led to working with them under contract on actual pen tests.
There was just so much crossover with skills I already had with journalism and the investigation. I proved to be quite helpful.
