4) In my view, David Coleman's decision to grant Milo a visa is largely a product of pandering to an effective campaign on his behalf by PHONy & Newscorpse, & an attempt by the Tories to staunch the bleeding to its RW rivals, esp in marginal electorates in NSW, QLD & WA.

5) Inre pandering to explicit racist & xenophobic sentiment, this can sometimes assume fairly grotesque forms, as it did when the Tories voted in favour of PHONy's motion #IOTBW:
