JUST IN: Jared Kushner’s attorney told the House Oversight Committee that Kushner uses private messaging apps and personal email to communicate about official White House matters with foreign leaders – a violation of a law governing White House records and official policy.
Chairman Elijah Cummings said information uncovered by the committee found that Kushner used WhatsApp as part of his official White House work.
The panel also found that White House adviser Ivanka Trump continues to receive official messages on her personal email account and “does not forward the emails to her official account.”
The committee says it also has information about former White House officials K.T. McFarland and Steve Bannon using personal email to communicate about the “transfer of sensitive U.S. nuclear technology to Saudi Arabia.”
