Trump is going to keep demanding ever more party-line-toeing obedience from Fox News. They have the choice between buckling to his ratcheted up demands for "loyalty," or telling the truth. He will 100% throw them under the bus if he decides he doesn't need them anymore.
And this is where tweets like this come in. For a while now Trump and his surrogates have been boosting journalists and media outlets to the right of Fox and with even more lax standards than Fox.
Whether it be OANN (who at one point employed Corey Lewandowski, disgraced former campaign manager for Trump) or some other currently seat-of-the-pants operation, the Trump puppets in the media have enough clout to bring their audience from Fox to some other outlet.
OANN came on my radar back in January 2017 when Trump tagged them in a tweet. It's an interesting company.
OANN's big claim to fame before 2017 was that they were going to host a show in October 2015 where Sarah Palin interviewed then candidate Trump. I tried to watch, but the stream didn't work. Problem was NOT on my end.
Maybe it'll be Blaze TV (associated w/ former Never Trump conservative Glenn Beck who has suddenly seen the MAGA light after his ratings tanked); maybe it'll be NRATV. Doesn't matter, Trump TV could occupy any small outlet and bigly-size it w/ the infusion of Hannity or Ingraham.
The fact that Trump's sad little game of dominance and threats with Fox reporters like John Roberts has such huge consequences for the state of our politics should scare every citizen, regardless of what party they're in.
