Suggestion that Trump now recognizing Israel's sovereignty over land that they won (& controlled since) in a defensive war in 1967 somehow legitimizes an illegal annexation that happened in 2014 is absolute clownish nonsense.
It's understandable why a Russian propagandist would make that argument. Not understandable why anyone who claims to be a serious person would pretend it has any legitimacy.

Russia also argues that criticism of the press in America mean that our calling out their abuses against press freedom are illegitimate and that police shootings mean we can't call out their massive civil rights abuses.

It's insane. They are actually so blinded that they are arguing a Trump recognition in 2019 somehow could give justification to an illegal action Russia took all the way back in 2014 (and faced little consequence for from the admin at that time).
