A THREAD- originally a FB post by my friend, Alex:

I read a write-up this morning about Hannity and the other dimwits and money changers proclaiming post-Mueller victory and demanding repercussions on behalf of President Porn Star.

1/
Something to consider as state-sponsored media and our more gullible fellow citizens continue to lick the boots of a game show host and crow about an “exoneration” that never took place:
If they’re right (they aren’t) then a special counsel was assigned to investigate a president with no cause and purely for political advantage. If that were true...well, it sounds like an impressive, well-coordinated, bipartisan (and somehow entirely secret) strategy.

3/
Yet, despite the reach, supposed political advantage, and clear motivation of such a strategy, it was never employed against Presidents Bush or Obama? Why not?

4/
1) B/c Bush and Obama weren’t the beneficiaries of a foreign power hacking an election. It’s not the only reason Ole’ Bone Spurs won, but it didn’t hurt.
2) B/c the children and staff of Bush and Obama didn’t take meetings with foreign agents at Bush Tower or Obama Tower

5/
3) Because Bush and Obama didn’t fire an FBI Director and then go on TV and tell a journalist they did it because of a federal investigation.
4) Because Bush and Obama’s son-in-law and advisor didn’t try to set up a back channel with Russia, undetectable by law enforcement

6/
5) Because Bush’s and Obama’s NSA and AG didn’t lie to federal investigators about their contacts with Russian agents. To such an extent that the AG had to recuse himself from the investigation and the NSA is headed to the pokey.

7/
6) Because Bush’s and Obama’s Campaign Managers weren’t in bed with foreign agents.
(7) Because Bush and Obama didn’t tell the Russians they fired an FBI Director because of a federal investigation and then give away classified information to those Russians in the same convo

8/
8) Because Bush and Obama didn’t roll over every time Putin pushed hard, or take unchaproned meetings with him.
9) Because Bush and Obama didn’t lie to the American public about their business dealings in Russia.

9/
10) Because Bush and Obama released their tax returns so we knew they weren’t making money off foreigners.
11) Because Bush and Obama took steps to remove themselves from their economic conflicts of interests.

10/
12) Because Bush and Obama didn’t have the worst day of their campaign- a publicized recording of admissions of sexual assault- offset by a foreign power dumping hacked Democratic emails into the media as a distraction.

11/
13) Because a special counsel investigation of Bush and Obama wouldn’t have yielded dozens of indictments, like this one did.
14) Because Bush and Obama weren’t so generally prone to lies that you had to assume everything they said was untruthful.

12/
15) Because Bush and Obama didn’t pursue Russia-advantageous policies like picking fights with NATO.
16) Because Bush and Obama didn’t speak and tweet like guilty people.

13/
Until we see the report, we can’t know why specific findings were made. But any honest person with sense and the ability to read a newspaper would have wanted all of the above investigated.

14/
Yet, while nobody despises Trump more than I do, even I couldn’t create an argument that being happy with the Russians, taking meetings with the Russians, or sucking up to Russians was a crime. If all Mueller had was what was in the public eye, then no crime.
But any President would have been investigated for the above conduct. The fact that none ever have been should tell you that it was Trump’s conduct that caused the special counsel investigation, and not some clandestine agenda.
Also...and this is important: don’t buy into any efforts by the Trump media or his shills to shame you for believing that all the smoke demonstrated fire. It still may. Trump (and his shady family) are hardly out of legal jeopardy.

17/
Moreover, all of the above shadiness appeared in front of your eyes, and only the people who can’t see and hear through the tinfoil wouldn’t at least be bothered by it.

18/
Equally important, in addition to not being an exoneration, none of this demonstrates that Trump is a good person or a good president or some kind of victim. Other deficiencies include:

1) Sexually assaulting women.
2) Cheating on his wife (and newborn) with porn stars.

19/
3) Violating federal election law by paying hush money to porn stars.
4) Mocking gold star families.
5) Mocking the disabled.
6) Telling something like 10 verifiable lies per day in public
7) Stiffing contractors
8) Stiffing charities
9) Using charities for personal expenses

20/
10) Making fun of war heroes.
11) Picking fights with dead war heroes and their still grieving families.
12) Separating children from their parents.
13) Bitching about illegal immigration while employing illegal immigrants.

21/
14) Bitching about Obama’s academic record while lying about and hiding his own.
15) Obstructing justice, including helping his imbecile kid draft a false statement about the Trump Tower meeting with the Russians.

22/
16) Not accomplishing anything of import that Congress, the Federalist Society, or Obama didn’t gift wrap for him (or that any other GOP President wouldn’t have accomplished under the same conditions).

23/
17) Cozying up to, and excusing the behavior of, dictators in Russia, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, and the Philippines.
18) Being fully accepting of Russian help in the election and not alerting the FBI about the contacts.

24/
19) Being wholly inept at foreign policy to such an extent that even his staff and appointees think and say he’s stupid.
20) Dodging the Vietnam War while his fellow citizens died.
21) Having tiny, tiny, oh so tiny hands...which is why he acts the way he acts.

25/
So whether Trump broke any laws when he got in bed w/ the Russians, or at least tried to cover it up, is almost beside the point. If somebody, be it a media personality, a social media contact, a co-worker, a relative, or a friend, is trolling you about Trump’s “victory,”...

26/
Remember, all of the above is what they support, all of the above is what they endorse, all of the above is what they ignore, all of the above is what they enable, all of the above is what they respect, and all of the above is what they’ll be associated with...

27/
long after Trump is gone. And if they claim otherwise (or bring up Hillary Clinton) ask if they’d support a GOP primary opponent in 2020 and listen for the crickets. They’re riding high now, but would you honestly trade places with them?

28/
Let the babies have their bottle, and get back to work. It’s a long way and about a million news cycle between now and November 2020, and this colostomy bag isn’t going to beat himself (he’ll pay a stripper to do that- hey-yo!)

29/
Everyone with sense knew impeachment was a distraction anyway, so let’s do what we need to do to keep winning in the courts, the prosecutors’ offices, the marketplace of (actual) ideas, and, eventually, at the ballot box.
