Dan Mitchell of the Center for Freedom and Prosperity issued this warning: "Be careful what you wish for. If the crowd in Washington has more time to focus on policy, do you think they'll make problems better or worse?"
There's a lot of truth to that. CongressCritters have a tendency to try to address government-created problems with more misguided policies or propose solutions to fixing well-functioning markets. If it's not broke, they'll still try to fix it.
Things are seldom so bad that Congress can't make them worse!

There's a long line outside & many fierce advocates reminding the witnesses and senators that there are still HUNDREDS of children -- who were ripped from their parents arms at the border under Trump's family separation policy -- who still haven't been reunited with their parents
These children include a 2 year old who is in government custody who is deteriorating quickly and indications that the child can no longer recognize the mother's voice. #FamiliesBelongTogether

{thread} Back in the day we had Usenet, dev .plan files, places like Compuserve, AOL, Delphi, CIX/BIX etc. These were places you go to find fluffy breasted nerds in their natural habitat. They were also the only places where you could find anything meaningful about technology.
It was the time when seeing a console window was enough to induce an epileptic shock, long enough to discourage you from typing anything into that Black ominous screen.
It was a time when we would argue about DOS vs MS-DOS, OS/2 (I worked on that btw) vs Windows, Bill Gates vs your mom's last boyfriend, and the merits of a floppy vs Iomega Zip drive.

It was a time of much hilarity and nerd dominance.
