1) What do you think Leave looks like?
I have the utmost respect for @jessphillips but I see her and other MPs this morning saying "no, these thugs don't represent *my* Leave voters"

2) I'm sure there's many people who think they are taking a principled stand on #Brexit - but really, what did they think would happen?

You start with "legitimate concerns on immigration", move to "EU bullies" & wartime comparisons, and turn a blind eye to people like these

3) you end up with a sitting MP agreeing with protesters that "they (MPs) have betrayed you" and going along with simplistic "you voted to leave, what's the problem" arguments whilst voting against a #Brexit deal that would let us leave

4) Brexit is about identity and isolationism and "foriners" and anger. It's the authoritarian "why can't we just leave" demands and drinking out of a can whilst burning EU flags

5) Many people have in fact thought about their vote and have switched to #RemainerNow - and they are very very welcome

But the hard core has hardened.

6) one colleague of mine when asked about the fate of Unionists in NI if there is unification said "well, it's their own fault for living there"
Another wants to leave because he wants to leave Italy and Greece to it re refugees from Africa ("Not our problem")

7) Just this week I posted a link to the #RevokeArticle50 petition on a local interest site (nextdoor.co.uk, give it a try) and had a hard core saying "we agreed no politics here, why can't the admins take this down" despite it being obvious many more people liked it

8) We have to reach out to Leave voters and I accept that - but today of all days lets not give them the out of saying "of course I know *you* don't feel like those thugs at the Robinson rally"

If I found my politics put me on the same side of homophobes, I'd change my poliitics

9) This is what Leave looks like - you can't be "a little bit racist" - you can't appease the far right - and as for people saying "oh no, I'm not like those oiks, I'm nuanced and brilliant" - you're not, if you were you wouldn't be on the same side as them

10) People need to make a choice - open, inclusive, tolerant society or yellow vesters putting on a uniform to be part of a mob. Kindness or rage.

@jessphillips please don't soften the choice for them
