[NOT a joke, despite date!] Home Office seems to have quietly changed its definition of what constitutes an EU citizen in the last few days. IANAL but if you are a lawyer, it would be worth taking a *very* close look at the differences. Feb 1 2019 version:

There is a majority against no-deal in the HOC. But that's in the abstract. Is there a majority to revoke (consequence of being against no-deal in extremis)? Who knows!

Even if that majority exists too, what MPs don't seem to have fully grasped is just how unkillable no-deal is.
It's worse than a cockroach. No-deal will happen by default. It requires no action from Parliament to happen. Instead, Parliament must proactively act to *stop* it.

But to do that MPs have to have control of business AND pass a binding motion. None of this weak indicative stuff.
They have control of business now, but they might not get it again (needs to be reaffirmed every time) if their purpose was to pass a binding "revoke Article 50" rather than conduct more indicative votes.

Events during Wednesday's 3rd Brexit indicative vote, if we even get that far, can play out one of two ways:
- A real compromise and ceasefire between PV supporters and soft Brexit supporters produces an actual majority. This requires no more games, fudge, waiting, subterfuge
OR
- The biggest opportunity we ever had to avoid a hard or no deal Brexit is utterly squandered by MPs thinking "there's always next time". Super dangerous stance. Highly likely Wednesday is *it* as far as Parliament's tolerance for the indicative vote process goes.
I hate saying it so much it's painful to type, but I think the dream of stopping Brexit entirely is dead. I believe that if it comes down to revoke or no-deal, Theresa May will choose no-deal to keep (more of) her party together. So everything should be seen through that prism.

It's sickening to see Brexiters strutting in interviews like they've just been named champions of the world. Practically salivating at the prospect of a no-deal Brexit. Rhetoric is sharpening by the hour.
But of course they're getting no-deal in 11 days, unless they're somehow stopped. And it's very hard to see how Parliament could stop it happening if Theresa May becomes actively antagonistic and seeks to thwart any attempt to block no-deal.

1. Russian deal
2. India Statement on Iran oil
3. No rate cut by RBI
4. Uday Kotak on ILFS board
5. Tightening NBFC
6. Chanda Kochar left ICICI

Indian markets & even currency should cheer sooner than later. #optimist #investor
If stocks can fall 20-30-40% in day, they can rise 30-40-50% also in a day. Can be an interesting start to the week. Finishing my write-up soon...watchout for words from one retail investor :)

7. Trump unhappy with Fed rate hike - In my view, Fed rate hike and trade war can impact US economy in more bad than good.

Another positive for Indian markets.

Macros should start turning soon in favor of India like low oil, better INR and hence better markets

This is gonna be long, but I think it's worth it. A well-regarded twitter poster, let’s call him Giorgio, has recently publish a thread stating among other things as follows. “The pathways to stopping or delaying Brexit are blocked.
But once the mandate is discharged, the pathways to UK rejoining, or being in a close association agreement with EU, within the single market and customs union, will be open, with no obstacles.”
This approach annoys me for two reasons, one because Giorgio seems to be attempting to cajole Remainers to put all activity on hold until we actually leave the #EU.
