A client came to us with a website built on @hibuUS and was desperately in need of, not only new business, but just some dang exposure.

A THREAD on how technical SEO changed his business and life and why I laugh when people say “SEO doesn’t work”... 1/13
Our client was paying $250/mo. and saw little to no activity in the form of calls or website form submissions.

We took a look at his site and realized there were a lot of issues. 2/13
Not only did the site lack basic SEO markup, including headline tags, meta description, title tags, and more, but the site lacked a clean UX and any form of CRO. 3/13
Luckily, we were able to get out of the contract, but, of course, Hibu owned the site and our client could not take it with him.

We told him, “Hey, that’s okay. We need to build this thing from the ground up anyways.” 4/13
Our client is in the windshield replacement business in the Phoenix Metro, which is very saturated and contains big competition like @safelite.

We knew we needed to build a technically sound SEO site with Conversion Rate Optimization of utmost importance. 5/13
The industry he is in is super fast paced. You must catch the attention of users quickly and make it SO easy to contact.

We also needed to build the site with SEO in mind since our client was running on a razor thin budget with $0 for paid ads. 6/13
So, we did exactly that. We built a site that checked all of the Technical SEO boxes over and over again.

We used @yoast for configuration and wrote specific and targeted meta designed for CTR and specific keyword rankings. 7/13
The site was simple. About 10 or so pages, but designed to convert and optimized for CRO with @CrazyEgg.

We identified low hanging fruit in terms of keywords, specifically cash back offers. We completed the site and began SEO promotion through local optimization 8/13
Unfortunately, we did not have any analytics to baseline (Hibu took these too), but here are some charts.

The ONLY work we are doing is local SEO promotion, not even content unfortunately. This shows the power of a well-designed site with SEO at the core of the build: 9/13
The chart below shows the following:

3/25/18 Launched New Site - 488 Impressions and 1 Click

3/25/2019 - 8,003 Impressions and 91 Clicks

That’s a 9,000% increase in 12 months.

For those that say “SEO does not work”, show them this. 10/13
Below is the last three months chart. In total, since we took over, CRO and SEO efforts only have generated the following organic traffic:

1. 428k impressions
2. 3.74k clicks
3. $20,204.02 in estimated PPC traffic from only top ten keywords by click volume.

Of note, this data is from Google Search Console. We have not spent a dollar on paid ads.

In March, 191 forms were submitted and 571 phone calls made (also includes Yelp ($0 spend) and GMB data).

The windshield industry is tough and competitive

So, what did our client do with all the new leads?

He fulfills some and passes along the rest to others for $. He’s happier, works less, makes more, and NOW he too believes in SEO! 🤗
