Prince Harry is joining @Oprah on @AppleTV! A spokesperson for the couple confirms that the pair are partners, co-creators and executive producers on a forthcoming mental health series launching on @Apple’s new service in 2020.
Per an Instagram announcement, they confirm: “The pair have been developing the series for several months and are looking forward to sharing such an important project on this global platform.”
“The dynamic multi-part documentary series will focus on both mental illness and mental wellness, inspiring viewers to have an honest conversation about the challenges each of us faces, and how to equip ourselves with the tools to not simply survive, but to thrive.”
The project builds on Harry’s long-standing work on issues and initiatives regarding mental health, where he has candidly shared personal experience and advocated for those who silently suffer, empowering them to get the help and support they deserve.

He says of the series:
For @Oprah, mental health is also a deeply personal subject. In 2016 she wrote in @oprahmagazine, “In recent years I’ve come face-to-face with mental illness, as several people close to me were hospitalized with severe suicidal depression and manic and schizophrenic thoughts.”
I’m told that Prince Harry and @Oprah’s multi-episode series is still in pre-production and “will centre on mental health, trauma, anxiety depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and loss.”
The series is part of a bigger deal between Oprah’s Harpo Productions and Apple.
Oprah has had several meetings with Harry (the most recent, confirms a source, was early March in London): “Our hope is that [the series] will have an impact on reducing the stigma and allowing people to know that they’re not alone and allowing people to speak up about it.”
