Catching up on an interesting hearing today convened by a new subcommittee on disinfo set up by @CommonsCMS on the ongoing investigations by the ICO on political micro-targeting. Apparently, my case against Cambridge Analytica/SCL was mentioned…
@CommonsCMS Question on my case from @DamianCollins to @ICOnews comes at 55:00 in video. Deputy Information Commissioner says they may be able to provide a narrative of how data was used and how it moved thru a sequence of algos at Cambridge Analytica, describing the data modeling process.
Key point is that the ICO continues to work on this effort to provide answers to our questions about what Cambridge Analytica did with our data, questions that the company and its administrators refused to address. We may know more “in due course.”
After the question about my data, the ICO commissioners field question about Aleksandr Kogan’s and Cambridge University data being accessed from IP addresses in Russia. ICO has shared all it can with “relevant authorities” (which probably includes the FBI).
Deputy Information Commission says to expect another report in autumn concluding analysis of servers and data seized from Cambridge Analytica and Cambridge University. ICO’s forensic investigators are down to the last few servers at this time, unwinding the data, tracing it back.
