William Barr either willfully misled the public or he has a profound reading comprehension problem. Either way, it is pretty clear that he should no longer be Attorney General. Barr’s testimony should be mere prologue to his impeachment proceedings. wapo.st/2IRTs5q
This shouldn’t be all that surprising after we all got a look at the report ourselves—but it is noteworthy that Mueller wrote @TheJusticeDept in March and requested the release of the special counsel’s own summaries and Barr has yet to offer a good reason why he hadn’t done that.

Going with “Democrats aren’t angry” is certainly a choice for @JoeBiden. He seems to define anger only as wasteful or hateful. Women, people of color, and other Democratic constituencies aren’t angry like Trump and his followers. They’ve been pissed off in a whole different way.

Joe Biden argued that the 1994 crime bill—which he wrote—didn’t “generate mass incarceration.” It is a straw-man argument that gaslights his critics. It did plenty of damage that Biden is unwilling to account for and @KamalaHarris was right to say as much. nbcnews.to/2VCA3w9
Kamala Harris may very well be an imperfect messenger. The blame for mass incarceration arguably lies more with local prosecutors than with presidents. @jduffyrice laid all this out in 2016. It is still one of the best essays that I’ve read on this topic. bit.ly/2HnxDsv
Biden is correct that the crime bill didn’t generate mass incarceration as a phenomenon, but he positions the argument as if the bill had no net effect on it whatsoever. It’s him trying to bury it without having to deal with the law’s nuances, and he shouldn’t get away with it.

According to the Special Counsel rules, in basic terms, the Attorney General MUST notify Congress if he ever disagreed, overruled, or blocked the Special Counsel.

#IMO: Barr violated DOJ rules by failing to disclose he OVERRULED Mueller.

In his first letter, Barr told Congress "there were no such instances" where he disagreed, overruled, or blocked Mueller.

But, his decision to exonerate Trump, when Mueller would not, is just that. [2/2]
#RELATED: While the Special Counsel rules mandate that Barr notifies Congress if he interferes w/ the investigation...

...those rules DON'T apply for the 14 investigations Mueller handed-off.

They could be impeded and Barr wouldn't have to tell anyone.
