Immigrating to Nova Scotia, its capital city Halifax which is by the way the economic Hub of Atlantic Canada with a population of just about 435,000 people.

Nova Scotia is the Easiest Province to Get a PR in Canada; for those who are not sure of a province to settle in, I will always recommend NS

Here are My Reasons;

1. Affordable accommodation
2. Ideal place to settle with family
3. Lots of Job opportunities
4. Enough Help from the Provincial government.

What More is taking U out of Nigeria if not these and More...Lol

That being said, there is a specific process for migrating to Halifax, Nova Scotia which is called ;
The NOVA SCOTIA NOMINEE PROGRAM (NSNP)

There are essentially 3 Major ways to Migrate to Nova Scotia in Canada
1.Federal Express Entry system
2.Nova Scotia Nominee Program NSNP

3. The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program

But for tonight, lets deal with Number 2.- NOVA SCOTIA NOMINEE PROGRAM.

This NSNP is a 2 step Application process –
For Permanent Residency, selection is based on Skills, Education and work experience

which are a prerequisite for Your adequately contribution to the Labour market and NS economic needs.

However, since you have decided to Migrate/Live and work permanently in Nova Scotia , these are Various streams of the NSNP to determine if you qualify

There are 2 Major Steps;
Step 1.
a. Skilled worker
b. Regional Labour Market Demand stream
c. Family Business Labour

Step 2.
If you make it through any of these streams, which by the way, may take over 6 months ; after receiving Your nominee certificate , go straight ahead to apply to the Citizenship & Immigration Canada (cic) for your permanent residency visa.

Requirements You , Your Spouse and dependents Must Meet;

1. Medical requirement
2. Security and criminal admissibility
In same cases, an interview may be required.

NOTE: CIC has the final decision and say/ authority when it comes to issuing the visa itself.

LISTEN: Money is also of high essence- while applying for the visa , You will be asked to Show Financial Capacity.
Here is budget breakdown.

For Individual ---- 12,475 CAD
For family of 3--- 19, 250 CAD

NOW GUYS, READ THIS SECTION VERY WELL .

The NSNP is a provincial nominee program of Nova Scotia Province.
Nova Scotia demands EXPRESS ENTRY STREAM (CATEGORY B) which is the most popular stream of NSNP to apply for PR in NS, Canada.

The beauty Is, the NSNP EE Stream category is the easiest process so far and does not ask the applicant for any prior Job Offer.

But importantly, having your profile registered in the EE is a key requirement.

It does not require any job offer from applicants like I mentioned above; if you apply and get selected for the provincial nomination via this stream, you get 600 additional CRS points in Express Entry.

Such huge points received makes it easier to get Canada PR invitation from IRCC (immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada)

Now here are KEY REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY FOR NSNP- EE STREAM (category B.)
As an applicant in this stream, you need to have these Key requirements.

1. Select/ pick a target occupation as identified In the NS in demand occupation list.

2. Register your Profile in the Express Entry System

3. Get a Minimum of 67 points or higher in the 6 selection factors.

4 .Have a minimum of 1 year of skilled engagement and work experience in one of your chosen occupation

5.Have a university degree or an equivalent

6.Prove Language ability in English or French – Benchmark is 7( IELTS 7band)

7. Show enough Financial resources to settle in NS successfully- to cover accommodation ,feeding etc via Your account statement printout.

If you do more Research, You'd find out Category B is closed for now.

It's the Category A that's open for now...but the Category A requires An Offer of Employment from Nova Scotia..while all other requirements remains same..
