1/8. At a meeting tonight, an Immigration Attorney told us that the next 4 months will be a reign/rain of terror on undocumented immigrants in America. Why?
2/8. Because the fiscal year ends on September 30th and the funding that ICE offices will receive next fiscal year depends on how many immigrants they deport prior to the end of this fiscal year.
3/8. HE has demonized immigrants and will now use each deportation as a notch in his belt for the 2020 election campaign.
4/8. Evil marches on and the good do nothing. Does that have a familiar ring? Probably not, for most of you; you are too young to remember. But I am not too young to remember.
5/8. I was 4 yrs old in 1943. In a piano seat in our living room was a wide white book with shiny paper. Pages were filled with black & white photographs. Every photograph on every page was strewn with dead bodies. I see that book as clearly today as I did when I was 4 yrs old.
6/8. I thank God we are not reliving the horrible events of World War II. But some of what has been happening during the past 2+ years does eerily echo events prior to World War II.
7/8. And what will come next if the good continue to stand by and do nothing? What will come next?
8/8. We are not engaged in a battle to defeat a president; we are engaged in a battle to save the world. I speak my truth.
