Panic, it's going to be no-deal... except the numbers are still against that in Parliament, legislation to prepare is in a mess, and the new PM will get the private briefs that say expect a lot of disruption - and it will be on you Prime Minister
Panic, there's going to be a general election... except are the Conservatives going to stand on a no-deal platform and split the party? And if not why bother. And Johnson isn't terribly popular in Scotland, and the Lib Dem threat, and you want to be the shortest-lived PM?
If there was an easy Brexit path we'd have taken it by now.
