on june 8, 2018, we took to the streets to protest the corey long's conviction for defending himself and this community on august 12, 2017.

while we were waiting outside the jail for their release, christopher cantwell was following the story from somewhere in northern virginia, where he was awaiting trial for his violent acts during the nazi torch march of august 11, 2017.
he made a phone call to the police.

in this call, cantwell tells the charlottesville police officer who answered the phone that all the "communists" needed to be "put through a woodchipper." she laughs and thanks him for his support. they make friendly conversation for a few minutes.

a community member filed a complaint with the police department after cantwell played this clip on his podcast nearly a year ago. the result of that complaint was returned recently.
while the date on the letter indicates it was written march 22, the woman whose complaint it closes says she just received it in the mail this week. 9 months is a long time to take to close a complaint and 3 months is a very long time to mail a letter a few blocks.
it took nearly a year to process this complaint. the officer is on tape laughing & agreeing with a neonazi that we should be put through a woodchipper.

sometimes people ask me why i don't go to the police when christopher cantwell threatens repeatedly to rape and murder me. there are a lot of reasons why, but this is certainly one of them. they. don't. care.
actually, looking back at the timeline here, this was after eli mosley kicked him out of his place in leesburg because cantwell’s drunk in public arrest got mosley’s address in the news. he was living with derrick davis (TWP’s “quartermaster”) outside of richmond at the time.
