Russia invaded Georgia & Ukraine, committed assassinations and election interference across Europe, but #PACE wants to invite Putin's mafia back into their organization. Pure corruption, no other word for it.
When Ukraine's territorial integrity is restored 100%, when Putin has ceased attacks on European elections & institutions, only then make mention of such concessions. Otherwise you only invite more attacks.
No business deals with Putin's Russia can compensate for the collapse of the EU structures & ideals such deals sponsor. Appeasement encourages him, and why not? He annexed European territory and you're still kissing his ass for a little cash.

There is no limit. But underestimating the depths to which people like Trump & his defenders will go is only the first mistake. The second is ignoring the warnings and refusing to take action.
The Dems, both in Congress & most of the 2020 candidates, keep hoping someone or something else will take Trump down for them so they don't have to make a commitment to the rule of law.
This is a pathetic and dangerous wishful thinking, well-known from history and often with tragic consequences: "Surely someone else will stop him. He'll do something even worse that will lead to his downfall."

I hardly agree on anything with the progressives Pelosi is fighting with, but when they say 2+2=4, I'm not going to argue. Trump's crimes are impeachable and Pelosi is flatly refusing to do her constitutional duty.
Unlike the GOP, Pelosi doesn't deny Trump's culpability. She talks like a pundit with no power, as if she's not the Speaker holding the authority the Founders granted her to prevent abuses by a corrupt president.
Punting to the election corrupts the intent of the entire system. Saying "I won't do my duty because others won't either" is a democracy dying in plain sight. Either there is rule of law or there isn't.

In #Helsinki, #Putin stated directly that he worked to elect Trump. His intent was to stop #HillaryClinton. He tried to effectuate that during the primary by targeting Sanders supporters. Putin could not sway non-white voters despite his broad disinformation campaign against HRC.
But even though #Putin was unable to win the primary, he WAS able to plant the seeds of disinformation quite strongly. That included the parroting of #HillaryClinton being "corrupt," which Sanders and Trump had hammered (without evidence) repeatedly. (Details are in the report.)
