Don’t focus on methodology. Three years into the worst peacetime political crisis in our modern history, and four weeks from electing a narcissistic sociopathic pathological liar as prime minister, the main Opposition party should not be third in any poll under any circumstance.
The electoral landscape has never been riper for Labour. The country is on its knees begging for leadership, the Tories have descended into fanaticism and don’t dare speak the truth to voters or themselves. If Labour can’t capitalise then what is Labour for?
I remain a Brexit optimist, in that I don’t believe we’ll get no-deal and still think we have a real chance to secure a referendum, but in general I’ve never felt such despair at the state of our country or its leaders or any prospects for its immediate future. Could fucking cry.
