#THREAD: On July 12, 2019 at 8:09am, @RepCummings’s staff informed Republicans of a 31-page report examining the humanitarian crisis at the southern border.

Some thoughts ⤵️

• 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫.

After months of calling it a “fake” crisis, Dems are now looking for someone to blame. They blame @POTUS—as they do for everything.

• 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞.

This report cherry-picked info to create a misleading narrative. Of data received on 1,575 children, 96% were reunified with a sponsor or parent.

• 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 @𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐂𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬'𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Contrary to the Chairman’s assertion of a “cover-up,” the Administration has produced nearly 7,500 pages of documents to the Committee.

• 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰s 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬.

DOJ represented to the court that the Administration had discharged 98 percent of children.

• 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐧 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬.

Democrats were forced to delete a tweet using an Obama-era picture of border detention to blame President Trump for the crisis. This report, unsurprisingly, does not include the deleted picture.

Ultimately, the Democrats are only interested in scoring political points as indicated by their partisan report.

They are not interested in addressing the unprecedented border security and humanitarian crisis.
