Going through the #MauritiusLeaks released last night by @ICIJorg, because Kenyans and people investing in KE have been using Mauritius as a tax haven for a long time...So here are a few names in the leaks.
1. @umaticapital, where ICT CS @joemucheru is an investor and shareholder
Lamu Oil and Gas Ltd, owned by Qatar National Bank and Edgo Energy. The Qataris opened their embassy in KE in April 2012; on June 1st 2012 Lamu Oil and Gas Ltd was opened in Mauritius, and won the block concessions a month later. #MauritiusLeaks
There are four companies in the #MauritiusLeaks associated with the Lamu oil concessions, two of which are now defunct but the other two are still active. All of them were opened on a single day.
Then 'Tana Oil and Gas Limited', owned by Mohammed Abdirahman Hassan, who is the current chairman of National Bank, or someone who shares the same name.

...and Trident Enterprises, which was opened to anchor this rather roundabout sale, leasing, and sub-leasing of two aircraft to a Kenyan company, DAC Aviation.

Just three months ago, the High Court nullified Kenya's tax treaty with Mauritius, which was signed in May 2012--the signing date also explains why the oil and gas companies and others such Umati Capital rushed to register companies in Mauritius later that year.

Now this thread is for the people who, as part of their human experience, went to national schools and groups of schools. First, you are not brighter than us. You are not our betters. We can call out your abuse or any abuse by anyone you identify with.
I am not attacking you when I say this. But over and over again when I make a point about how your schools have harmed the Kenyan experience, the same conversation happens. I am not attacking your experiences, or your humanity.
That I spent more mental juice trying to explain this to old boys of Starehe (still waiting for that invite to your Whatsapp groups) bothers me. Are we our high schools? Are we going to live as adults by the institutions we visited (it was a visit, just a long one).

First, the news: After decades building a reputation as a white knight for Africa, pushing for aid, Bob Geldof's private-equity firm has been revealed to have set up shell companies in Mauritius so that it could avoid taxes to the African countries he was supposedly helping.
Is this legal? Probably. Is it right? That becomes the question, especially for someone of great means who has gone around begging working- and middle-class people for money for Africa, while he was withholding money from Africa.

Another text, from one of Dowless' workers to Dowless: "I'm scared and I don't remember half of what we are supposed to say" (to state investigators) #ncpol #nc09
That's interested because it makes it appear Dowless instructed them on what to say to state investigators. But in a state elections board hearing around the same time, Dowless said he only ever told his people to simply tell the truth. #ncpol #nc09

All different races of Mankind are derived from Manu and Shradha. The current Manu is Vaivasvata Manu.
2/ The word Manu literary means man but it is a title given to the progenitor of mankind. According to Hindu Puranas there are many kalpas (One day of Lord Brahma the creator) and each Kalpa has 14 manvantara and each manvatara has one manu. So basically each Kalpa has 14 Manus.
3/ The current manu of the present manvantara is Shraddhadeva or Vaivasvata Manu of this current Kalpa. He is the son of Vivasvat (Probably Surya) and is therefore also known as Manu-vaivasvata.
