I LOVED MAMAEARTH PRODUCTS UNTIL YESTERDAY

By a mother who was in Emergency Room last night with her 2 months old baby.
It’s not a hate rant so trolls stay off as you will be conveniently ignored.

I have been a loyal customer of @mamaearthindia products (all of them) until yesterday I opened this box of disaster for the first time to use on a very small nappy rash on my baby’s perianal area. @GhazalAlagh @VarunAlagh

1/3 the moment I applied this cream on her rash , she started crying excessively. I thought it’s just because I touched her affected area. (She has worn diaper only 4th time yesterday in two months) she is on cloth nappies. The rash was minimal. The crying became louder

1/4 everybody came running as she never cried like this. I was confused and panicked. That when I realised she is not liking the cream. I immediately tried to wipe it off with wash cloth and before I could do that, I saw the skin of her anal area changing colour and spreading .

1/5 she was now crying out of control and I could see boils/ pale blisters coming up in her perianal area. The redness spread even more. Immediately we took her to washroom and washed the area but the damage was done. Her skin was burning. It was Alarming.@mamaearthindia

1/6 we applied ice and tried to soothe the area and also tried calming my baby down. By now she was almost out of breath and was turning red. Her howling was unbearable and woke the neighbours too. And then- breath holding spell. @mamaearthindia

1/7 she went limp and was breathing very slowly and stopped crying. That when we rushed to emergency. This all episode happened in almost 10-15 minutes. By the time we reached emergency she was sleeping and we were clueless. (She is 2 months old) on an emergency bed.

1/8 doc came, checked, advised, reassured, she had an allergic reaction to the cream locally applied on the anal area, the ice worked. She had a breath holding spell which can be dangerous at times, the inflammation was controlled by a tube. Patient discharged @mamaearthindia 👇

1/9- Now.
I need an explaination as a mother and a loyal customer. We have used nappy rash creams of other brands on her earlier too, why would this particular cream do so? You know why, because it’s not HYPOALLERGENIC as you claim @mamaearthindia @VarunAlagh @GhazalAlagh

1/10 it was a fresh product , so can’t say it was not bought wisely. Bought it few days back only after checking all required details. @mamaearthindia #takeitoffshelf

1/11 it’s made safe certified but is it safe for babies? do we need to test it on small skin patch before using? do we check it for allergic reactions first? where is the customer complaint number or grievance handling contact detail on your product? @mamaearthindia

1/12 I may have gone through hell yesterday, it was traumatic . But I am not ranting here in distress. I am stating facts and it’s not just me there are many others like me.mind to care a little about #CustomerService #CustomerExperience

1/13/ there are many others, find them yourself if you care. Now all I urge /appeal/request is to TAKE THIS PRODUCT OFF SHELF IMMEDIATELY.
Because- I would have lost my baby yesterday/she would have gone through unnecessary pain and procedures just because you didn’t test it

1/14 Take this one product off shelf , test it, re do it, put proper disclaimers on it and then sell it.
Stop 🛑 claiming what you are not.

1/15 do not want more parents go through the hell we have been through last night just because we trusted a brand so hyped. All products are good but this one product must go off shelf #takeitoffshelf @mamaearthindia @TheShilpaShetty think before you endorse

Update-
Got a very responsible and assuring response from @VarunAlagh (founder)@mamaearthindia. They have delisted the said product from their website and doing a recall from Amazon and Firstcry too. My product is also being taken for testing.
