A view from inside TOC's head when I'm thinking about the look and feel of Future Force 2025 and beyond... Twitter limitations restrict mention of all your favourite units/kit e.g. logs, bridging but should be taken as read. This is for general visualisation purposes.

The bulk of the Army should be Mechanised in Medium (Mechanised Infantry) and Light (Light Mechanised) flavours. The *majority* of Infantry should be Mechanised Infantry (Medium) and centred around the MIV platform as both their deployment mechanism and mothership for operations. Remember: Mechanised Infantry can be deployed and operated dismounted.
The rest of the Light Infantry should convert to Light Mechanised. There should be no non-mechanised Infantry Battalions. Many of these vehicles are in-service already and covered by the two MRV-P groups. It just makes sense to expand the existing HMT fleet. Graphic by Supacat

Special Infantry Group Battalions are... special. Their main role is to work alongside Partner Forces to perform Partner Forces roles. They should draw primarily on the Light Mech fleet plus the Foxhound et al. Imagine this is where most of the new UOR* mechanism would be used. Photo source unknown Photo source unknown
*I forget the name of the mechanism that has replaced the UOR process. U-something. It'll come to me. This is twitter after all.
16AAB should focus on Air Mobility rather than pure Air Drop, but wouldn't want to eliminate a core competence. Light vehicles that you can squeeze in a Merlin or Chinook, not just a Hercules or A400M, are the order of the day. Graphic by SupacatPhoto source unknownPhoto source unknownPhoto source unknown
Royal Marines should complete their conversion back from being Light Infantry in a Desert to Commando's. Maritime Security and State of Mind stuff. Arachnid Handler teams mandatory.
Lastly we come to the heavyweights. The above bulk of the Army provide very flexible, mobile units to kick in doors, flow through and bring up this armour. Armoured Infantry is where the heavy tracks, 360º protection & emphasis on fighting vehicles vs dismounting comes into play. Although these Battalions should be used homogenously, in concert with each other (as opposed to blended with each other) this does not preclude ad hoc adaptive forces or equipment.
