1.Holding mobile in hand while driving is dangerous driving under section 184 with fine of Rs 1000 to Rs 5000 for the first offence.

2. Don't be so happy that you will get away with fine. It is fine as above or imprisonment of 6 months to 1yr or both.
3. Offence is compoundable. State Govt can impose community service apart from payment of amount to compound so that you don't go to jail.

4.Subsequent offence of dangerous driving within 3 years attracts fine up-to Rs 10000 or imprisonment up-to 2 years or both
5.Other instances of dangerous driving are not comparable. You can be sent to jail

6.Other instances of dangerous driving apart from mobile in hand while driving are:
(a) jumping traffic signals
(b) dangerous overtaking
(c) driving against authorised flow of traffic
There can be other instances of dangerous driving in facts of a case

7. Not giving way to ambulance or fire engine punishable offence u/s 194E with fine up-to Rs 10,000 You can go to jail but you can apply for compounding. State may stipulate community service as condition for compounding.

8.Triple riding on 2 wheeler or driving or riding without helmet attracts fine and disqualification of licence for 3 months

9. Never ever allow a juvenile to take your vehicle out unless he or she has a licence or learner licence. Owner or guardian liable under section 199A for offences of juvenile

10. How often have you seen trucks loaded with pointed angles extending out of the truck? This will attract fine of Rs 20000 and unloading charges and vehicle will not be allowed to proceed without unloading

11.Penalties increased for many traffic offences .States can further increase the fines by a multiplier of more than 1 but not more than 10.Centre can increase by not more than 10% every year for inflation adjustment.

12. Corrupt policemen who let traffic offender get away will be penalized with twice the penalty applicable for that offence.. Section 210B
