Furthermore, I'm convinced that some evangelicals' opposition to refugee resettlement (& support for drastic policies cutting almost all refugee admissions to the US) is very closely tied to their inaccurate presumption that most refugees who come to the US are Muslims
Ironically, these anti-refugee policies are mostly harming persecuted Christians, who account for the majority of refugees resettled to the US in the past 5 years
Most evangelicals would be furious (& are, if/when exposed to what's happening) to know the US has reduced the number of persecuted Christian refugees from Iraq, Syria & Iran by 94% from 2016 to this year, & is now considering banning Christian (& other) refugees altogether
