Weekend Brexit analysis. Nothing happened that wasn't totally predictable and predicted.

Weekend political analysis. Good of the Labour Party to compete so energetically with the Conservatives for unelectability.
The UK currently has the politics of purity in a world of complexity and compromise. Those playing think it is winner takes all, and all means fair to achieve that. Those not playing hope for resolution of some kind. But resolution can't come without compromise.
However UK must simultaneously find compromises within two main parties, in Northern Ireland, and with our neighbours, which might just be too much for any country to cope with in a short time. The challenge is that non partisans are attacked from all sides even for this analysis
Pleased to say both sides of Brexit are already attacking my analysis, as predicted. Par for the course, for partisans hate the idea that they are extreme. Here's similar analysis from @lukemcgee relating to the election
This, really. Then add in Northern Ireland, Scotland, and wonder why we're finding it difficult to do a deal with the EU.

A rule of trade negotiations, know what you want.

Another rule, managing your own side is 90% of negotiations.

Have we become pessimistic because we're polarised, or did we polarise because we were pessimistic?
