Trump called Nancy Pelosi today to try to make a "deal" on the "whistleblower thing."

I'm not joking when I say he may be the dumbest ever elected official in US history. And a town in California once elected a golden retriever.
The town was Idyllwild, California.

This was Mayor Maximus Mighty-Dog Mueller.

He only lasted two years. Politics is a ruff profession.
Pelosi wasn't having it. Her exact words were, "Tell your people to obey the law."

Can we please now, finally, put to rest that Trump WANTS impeachment because he thinks it'll be a big win?

He's clearly (and rightly) SCARED.

The President is threatening civil war if he’s impeached. This is straight-up batshit crazy.

This isn’t going to happen. The dangerous thing is the president is encouraging violence from one of his deranged followers who may go shoot innocent people.

This is the sick fantasy of a malignant narcissist throwing a full-blown tantrum over losing control of his narrative.

Let's be very clear about how Trump is using racism and sexism to appeal to white supremacy:

There are over 200 members of congress who support impeachment.

In Trump's tweet, he only mentions 2 Jewish members and 4 women of color.

He calls them "SAVAGES."
So why doesn't he mention all the Christian men or white women who support impeachment?

It's because he instinctively knows his constituents will support him if he frames the debate as one between white Christian men and brown (female, Jewish) "SAVAGES."

THIS IS RACISM.
Every time Trump gets caught breaking the law, he starts making racist statements.

This does 2 things:

1. Motivates his racist base to ignore his crime & defend the “white” tribe.

2. It distracts the media narrative from his CRIME.

Just listened to an interview on NPR with congressman Andy Barr and I have to say, I’m not sure journalists are prepared for the level of shameless spin and gaslighting Republicans are willing to spout.

Journalists, I’m BEGGING you: stop pretending these guys aren’t LYING.
“Next up on our program, a liar who lies. Congressman, would you like to repeat a lie?”

“Sure, here’s a lie.”

“Great. Okay next question, would you care to lie again?”

“I’d be happy to, here’s another.”

“Well, that’s all the time we have.”
Just once, I want a journalist to say, “That simply isn’t true and if you continue LYING to our listeners, we’re going to end the interview.”

Why can’t HONESTY be a prerequisite for coverage? Why must they pretend the truth has two sides?

Are they worried about being polite?
