This discussion shows the very best of legal-political-Brexit Twitter

And gets to the heart of the point raised by @NicolaSturgeon earlier - opposition parties have to settle on a means to oust Johnson
@NicolaSturgeon Neither of the two routes discussed are perfect

The VONC route starts the 14 day clock ticking, but Johnson cannot sit on his hands for 14 days - he would have to stand aside if anyone else commands a majority
The @HelenMountfield @JolyonMaugham route doesn't have the ticking clock, but relies on convention and the Government would not have to permit a non-FTPA motion. But the Commons has found time for all sorts of things recently...
The summary is this:

if opposition parties want to remove Johnson - EVEN IF Johnson refuses to resign - they can

Don't get stuck on the procedures here. That's solvable. The problem is a lack of will to act. Next week - Labour, Lib Dems, SNP, ex-Tories - you have to
(and yes, there will be people who say try to tighten up the Benn Act etc. instead, but then we just go round and round again trying to bind Johnson somehow. Get RID of him. Install an alternative, a caretaker if necessary. Then ask the EU for an extension. It's the best route!)
