Dear #GOP,

You think you’re capable of outsmarting #Trump. That the savvy that got you elected will best Trump’s infantile vacuum of knowledge. That you’ll escape this #impeachment fiasco.

You won’t. He’s taking you down. Here’s what will happen to you in life henceforth:

1/

When he’s out of office, you think you’ll have escaped sanction because you’re still standing.

You think the voters will vote for you again because you’ll reshape your next campaign in an attempt to absolve yourself from direct enablement of this criminal White House.

2/

But as he starts to go down, you’re going to have to jump ship and adhere to the rules of Congress. It’s either him or your career: it cannot be both.

Most of you will — in the end — choose your career. But you’re forever stained.

And at the end of your life…

3/

…the only thing you will have, is your family. And bucket loads of utter shame.

You will NEVER get back any dignity. You will NEVER recapture whatever sense of purpose that made you run for political office in the first instance.

4/

You’ll try and quietly retire. Or write a book and contract to a cable show.

But no one will read you and the books will be pulped. Every time you open your mouth we’ll remind you of your craven grovelling.

5/

Your obituaries will say ‘defended Donald Trump in the face of all evidence’ and ‘sold his soul assuming he’d be rewarded’.

Trump is leading you on. He is NEVER going to reward you with a position, a pardon, a great post-political job for vast pay, a penthouse — nothing.

6/

You don’t know how Malignant Narcissists operate (you probably dismiss this diagnosis anyway). It doesn’t matter: he’s one of the most extreme case studies in real time.

Trust me: you are NOTHING to Trump.

You’re a mere stepping stone for him to put his considerable weight on (literally and metaphorically) as he uses and abuses you.

8/

He DOESN’T think you’re brilliant — as you’d like to believe — because you’re just a pebble in his shoe as he tramples his way through life.

You are not WORTH anything to him. He’s a Pathological Malignant Narcissist.

9/

You think you’re the exception. You think all those who went before you failed because of reason X,Y,Z and you sleep at night genuinely thinking you’ve discerned the way to understanding him.

You haven’t.

10/

You’re not the exception. You’re not special.

You’re NOBODY to him. You’re just a convenient inanimate stone to step upon.

11/

He won’t remember you fondly. He won’t even remember you at all. He won’t speak kindly of you on his deathbed.

To Trump, NOBODY is EVER loyal enough to deserve praise past the temporary transaction he needs of you right now.

12/

And he really needs you now. He needs you to sell your soul. To defend him. To prove loyalty to him. If necessary, to abandon your family and friends’ final appeals in the quest to save HIM.

You’re just a stone in his shoe.

And that is your legacy. #RIP
