The issue of UK regulatory alignment with the EU will be massive for business during any future relationship talks, not least as non-tarifff barriers like these are usually economically far more significant than tariffs, hence a simple trade agreement scarcely helps
Ultimately it will make little sense to have distinct UK regulations on a wide range of products - but this then also means we end up being de facto rule takers from the EU, and spend large amounts pf time and money trying to influence from outside
