From 2008 to 2013, while Verizon made over $42.4 billion in U.S. profits, it received a total tax refund of $732 million from the IRS.
In 2018, 60 big corporations zeroed out their federal income taxes on $79 billion in U.S. pretax income. Instead of paying $16.4 billion in tqxes at 21% corporate tax rate, these companies enjoyed a net corporate tax rebate of $4.3 billion
