Think we are moving to an election. No more Lab-Con talks planned on Bill timetable. Labour sources accuse Boris of not being serious about getting Bill through. No 10 expects EU response Friday. If extension mentions 31 Jan, Boris will apparently seek election immediately 1/3
Will warn that Parliament would use any opportunity to delay Brexit. Aides think he would get it through possibly with SNP support (as I said this AM). Labour officially says it will back election once no deal threat removed. But privately it is having cold feet 2/3
May hide behind fear of new cliff edge 31 Jan. PM controls the actual date so in theory could call February election & crash out in campaign. Though not very realistic. No 10 aides planning for late Nov/early Dec election. Dec more likely - poss 5 Dec ENDS
