Another is housing. There are 2 million more over-65s in towns than there were in 1981 and this is set to grow. But, as @RIBA and @centrefortowns have shown, we’re building the wrong housing in the wrong places amp.theguardian.com/society/2019/j…
Why? Because we haven’t put the transport, digital and skills infrastructure into our towns to create jobs. As a result, over half of all the digital jobs (often called the jobs of the future) are in the South East, mostly London centrefortowns.org/reports/digita…
82% of all broadcast media jobs are in London which is one reason this growing town-city divide - and the crisis it has created - receives little national attention. It should be the story of this General Election. It’s deeply depressing that it isn’t
