When you emphasize words in a tweet *like this* are you
I ask because *asterisks* are the standard indicator for bolding, while _underscores_ are italics. I've seen both used on Twitter along the lines of what I'd expect in a manuscript.

But I don't feel like *I* am using asterisks that way. *This* feels like a new class of emphasis
I was a publishing minor and trained in typesetting on a printing press. This gave me plenty of time to think about what we were starting to replace it with.

Anyway, typesetting is now something anyone can do with a swipe on glass.

How am I not even 40?
PS: @caulkthewagon suggests this is *underlining,* and I'm down. I feel like it's been out of style for awhile now. Bring back underlining!
