Every vote counts. Of course!

That said, when we're talking about the Remain cause, the youth vote *in aggregate* is by far the most powerful.

100 registered voters aged...
18-24 = 44 votes for Remain, only 10 votes for Leave
25-34 = 36 votes for Remain, only 18 votes for Leave
35-44 = 30 votes for Remain, only 25 votes for Leave

In other words, take a group of would-be voters under 44, and they will contribute more votes to Remain than to Leave.

After that, the trend starts reversing. Eventually...
65+ = 47 votes for Leave, only 24 votes for Remain
The above already accounts for turnout across age group. Younger voters turn out less. But they vote very, very Remain. Older voters turn out in droves, but far fewer vote Remain. So the younger voters still contribute more votes overall to Remain.

Of course, what happened was the different Leave factions found the plan too constrictive, because it stood in their way of being able to promise all things to all people. Dominic Cummings even lauded the lack of plans as a Leave strength in a blog post before the referendum.

All the candidates being caught out by outrageous social media comments and having to bow out of the election are embarrassing to their parties... But it will be much more embarrassing after 14 November when the candidate lists are locked and they can't withdraw any more.
So it's worth redoubling the effort to uncover this sort of thing once it's too late for them to be subbed out. That albatross can then be hung around their neck and that of their party for the remaining 4 weeks of the campaign.
It would not surprise me if the campaigns are sitting quietly on some of the more egregious examples, hoping and praying the media won't unearth them until after the 14 November deadline. They can then unleash the dirt to maximum effect.

THREAD: There’s a lot of overheated rhetoric going on over the recent election. Claims of voter fraud nationwide. Demands that mail-in ballots be eliminated. Demands that provisional ballots be eliminated. I will try to sort of the facts from the fiction.
Mail-in ballots: If we eliminate those, our military service members cannot vote. Is that really what you want? The problem with mail-in ballots is that the ID of the person voting has to be confirmed. This leads to lawyers arguing over signatures and is ripe for fraud.
For example, a partisan elections supervisor can reject a lot of ballots claiming the signatures don’t match. Then it’s up to the voter to prove otherwise. IOW, guilty until proven innocent. Doesn’t sound very American, does it? So, how do we solve this problem?
