December 2016: Trump ignores Obama and appoints Gen Flynn as National Security Advisor. Flynn is being vetted. Halper and Dearlove (former head of MI6) put out a fake news story that Cambridge seminar Flynn is linked to is penetrated by Russian intelligence. /2
For maximum impact, Dearlove and Halper announce resignations from the Cambridge seminar. (Except Halper already retired from Cambridge 6 months and Dearlove resigns and rejoins within weeks).
The 'Russian penetration of the Cambridge seminar which Flynn is linked to' stunt was designed to put pressure through the press on Trump not to appoint Flynn as the NSA in late 2016.
The follow up planned press story designed by Halper at the time time (Dec 2016) was that I was a Russian spy who had inappropriate relationship with Flynn and he therefore should not be appointed NSA.
Here is the story meant to run in December around Flynn's appointment as the National Security Advisor (but appeared later): "Michael Flynn: new evidence spy chiefs had concerns about Russian ties". The 'Spy Chiefs' who talk to Harding are John Brennan and Richard Dearlove.
The plot to stop Flynn: "US intelligence officials had serious concerns about Flynn’s appointment as the White House national security adviser because of his history of contacts with Moscow and his encounter with a woman who had trusted access to Russian spy agency records"
