This video makes me reflect on how within academic circles, which tend to be so disciplinary myopic on the Gulf, how the blockade had very important social, psychological emotional consequences. As I've said before, it's so often reduced to a diplomatic spat, which undermines
the very real-world consequences that go beyond geopolitics, IR, western security, oil politics & such like. This is no one's fault per se, just another example of why innovative scholars and refreshing approaches on the Gulf are required to explore the depth of human experience
even if the video is not what some purport it to be, the sentiment above is obviously still true.
