Collective amnesia forming among some in Labour that we lost this election because we were too anti-Brexit. If this was the case why did our vote share get decimated in Remain and Leave areas alike?

The leadership sat on the fence on Brexit, so we got splinters on all sides.
As recently as October, Labour were polling at 24, with the Lib Dems at almost 20. If we had been a pro-Brexit Party, we would never been able to squeeze their vote. The election result would have been even worse.
But the most important question when choosing the next leader is not Leave or Remain. It is: who can carry out the greatest comeback in one Parliament in modern times?

We need to beat Boris Johnson in 2024. My constituents cannot face another full decade of Conservative rule.
