In case you had any doubt that Donald Trump is willing to go to any lengths to protect himself, including inciting violence among his supporters. 
Listen. Trump is an authoritarian. Any attempt to rein him in is going to result in an escalation of violence, both rhetorical and physical. The concerns we’ve been voicing aren’t overreactions. They’re real. This is who he is. It’s what he does. Things are getting more dangerous
Stop pretending like it’s a joke, like people are just being alarmist. We have an authoritarian in power and authoritarians are more than happy to use violence if it serves their purposes. This is where we are. This is what’s happening.
Impeachment was necessary. But Trump is going to react to it by escalating. More enemy of the people, more they’re coming for your guns, more your family is in danger. He’s used his supporters as intimidation for years. With the stakes higher, it will be worse.
