BREAKING NEWS (FOX NEWS): GOP Senate Majority Leader McConnell Says He "Hasn't Ruled Out Witnesses" at Trump Impeachment Trial

If this is what Pelosi has gotten from McConnell after holding the articles just a few days, a few weeks should do it for getting a *deal* on witnesses.
1/ Where we were just *days* ago? McConnell making clear the Senate would move to a quick vote on the articles after a presentation by each side *without* live testimony.

Then Pelosi held the articles.

Then the explosive Duffey Letter dropped.

*Now* Mitch is back on his heels.
2/ And somewhere in there, *64% of Republicans* told pollsters that they wanted live witnesses, along with 71% of all Americans.

And somewhere in there Trump threw McConnell under the bus by publicly whining about Pelosi, thereby confirming she was winning.

Which she is. Bigly.
3/ Meanwhile, the Democrats are continuing their investigations and their litigation and accurately informing a federal court that McGahn's testimony could lead to more articles of impeachment, which fact itself underscores the reasonableness of holding onto the current articles.
4/ With each passing day, more Americans want live witnesses, more evidence emerges that underscores why those witnesses are needed, and Trump makes clearer and clearer (and in more and more *public* terms) how *desperate* he is to get this over with. Which underscores his guilt.
5/ In just the past few days, since the articles of impeachment were held, the odds of additional articles of impeachment have increased substantially and the odds of a bipartisan majority vote for conviction in the Senate (whether two-thirds or not) have increased substantially.
6/ More broadly, America is learning that now that articles of impeachment have put Trump on *notice* of the consequences of further invitations of foreign interference in our elections, there's no rush to end the ongoing investigations into what he's hiding and what else he did.
7/ The last week has seen a total victory for the Democratic argument, which in this instance is a total victory for our democracy and rule of law. And it remains the case that the worst-case scenario for the Democrats is just holding onto the articles indefinitely—which is fine.
8/ The McGahn case won't be heard until January—which means the House argument that it should hold the articles in *part* because more articles may be forthcoming once the testimony Trump obstructed goes forward is an active and compelling argument through at *least* next month.
