No it wasn’t Trump’s recklessness that got the US kicked out of Iraq.
It was Bush destroying Sunni power and giving Iraq to the Shiites that did it.
It was Obama building up Iran’s power in Iraq that did it.

If the US really withdraws its forces, the Shiite East of Iraq will move toward Iran—the same direction it’s been moving for 15 years.
What about the Sunni West? The Kurdish north? Will they resist being swallowed by Iran?

[Update:] A few hours later and it’s clear that nothing’s clear. Both decisions—withdrawal and escalation—are still in the future, and may happen or not. Whether the administration has an endgame still an open question.
