The treachery of Indian communists over the last 80 years.

1. In 1942, the CPI passed a resolution in favour of the creation of Pakistan. It endorsed the formation of Pakistan as a front against British colonialism.
2. The resolution was based on a thesis propagated by the party leader, Gangadhar Adhikari. He propounded a thesis that India was an agglomeration of 17 nationalities - PAthan, Balochi, Punjabi Muslim, Sikh, Bihari etc.
3. Adhikari advocated balkanisation of India, tand said that India was never a united country and that the idea of ‘one nation, one people, one language’ never existed at any point in the country’s history.

4. In fact the CPI declared the Muslim League as a progressive org, and called Gandhiji as the stooge of the British, Nehru as an agent of Imperialist forces, Patel as a fascist, Netaji as a stooge of Tojo etc.
5. The communists opposed the Quit India movement, and supported the Brits. They under the instructions from Moscow, supported the Stalin-Hitler pact of 1939. In 1941, Germany invaded Russia, and our desi communists changed their view.

6. The communists thrived till they were jolted by China. Ranadive wrote to Mao,"the Nehru govt which pursues a hostility towards the Chinese ppl, still continues its recognition of the bankrupt Kuomintang govt (Taiwan), does not represent the wishes and will of the ppl of India"
7. The Kerala victory in 1957, led to the Amristar thesis. The party's affiliation to international communist movement and their ideological proclivity to dictatorial political system, they were critically watched. The Amristar thesis was confusing, and a tactical pronouncement.
8. The Chinese aggression towards India split the Communists into left (L) and the right (R). The left was pro-Peking and the right was pro-Moscow. The CPI (L) flatly refused to believe that China committed an act of aggression against India.

9. During the Indo-China war, the communists took out processions shouting "China's chairman is our chairman".

10. In 1975, the CPI supported Mrs. Indira Gandhi and her emergency. The party considered the JP Movement as a movement of reactionary and fascists forces to oust Indira Gandhi from power.

11. Of course, the well known story of the former CM of Kerala V S Achutanandan, a CPM politburo member at that time was sacked for suggesting that they should organise a blood donation camp for the Indian Army soldiers during the 1962 war

Now with this credentials, both the faces of the same coin - the CPI and the CPIM, along with the mishmash of other communist alphabets, are talking about the Constitution, and singing our national anthem in their anti-CAA campaign. A purely tactical measure.
